To close out Wednesday night, we head to the Big East conference for a late night matchup between Villanova and Marquette. These are two squads who know each other well and will definitely be in contention for the Big East title at the end of the season. Revenge will be on the minds of Villanova after the Golden Eagles eked out a win on January 19th by a score of 57-54. Both teams enter this game as against the spread juggernauts with Villanova going 7-3 in their last ten games and Marquette going 8-2. This is the type of game where the spread likely won’t matter as much, and in any case, I expect it to be a pretty short number given the familiarity between these two teams. The Boilermakers escaped their matchup against Ohio State with a Jaden Ivey 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift the home team to another Big Ten win. The win was Purdue’s third straight and sixth in the last seven games aside from a loss to Indiana by three points. Purdue enters the game against the Golden Gophers with the number one ranked offensive unit in the nation. Minnesota on the other hand has lost six of its last seven games and sits in 12th place in the Big Ten conference. Minnesota sits 176th in offense and 200th in defense, and will have to contend with a Purdue team that can absolutely dominate them on the boards. The number one team in the country the Auburn Tigers host the Alabama Crimson Tide on Tuesday, in a classic SEC rivalry matchup. Like the Jayhawks and Cyclones, these two teams met on January 11th, where Auburn won 81-77. The Tigers needed four straight free throws to close out the game from Allen Flanigan in that game, after Alabama went on an incredible 14-0 run to nearly steal a victory. It’s been an up and down season for Alabama who recently won convincingly against Baylor, after losing to the Georgia Bulldogs in the same week. Auburn has been on fire, easily the best team in the country so far this year with a sparkling 20-1 record. It has been an incredibly balanced attack from Auburn as it currently has the 38th ranked .........

A major Big 12 showdown between two long-time rivals will take place on Tuesday night in Ames, Iowa. These two teams just faced each other on January 11th, where the Jayhawks managed to steal a 62-61 victory over the Cyclones. Don’t pay too much attention to the rankings right now though as the difference between these two squads isn’t as wide as it would suggest. The most glaring stat that stands out right now: Kansas ranks 122nd in defensive rating, while the Cyclones are 11th in the country. Kansas was exposed by fellow blue blood school Kentucky over the weekend, suffering a 80-62 beatdown at home. Meanwhile Iowa State is coming off of a couple of convincing wins over Oklahoma State and Missouri. This game should be a .........

Here we go, round three between two of the biggest rivals in the NFC. The 49ers have taken both games this season, including the stunning come from behind victory in Week 18 to clinch the playoff spot. Does anyone want to play the 49ers right now? Especially a Rams team that hasn’t been able to figure this team out on both sides of the ball. It’s a credit to head coach Kyle Shanahan to be able to gameplan a different script every time the team takes the field. The 49ers do have some key injuries though which is likely why we get the 3.5 instead of just a flat 3.0. First, Trent Williams had an MRI on his ankle that came back clean, but the team is unsure if the All-Pro tackle will be able to suit up. Then, Deebo Samuel was .........

After what was likely the game of the year on Sunday between the Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills, the AFC Championship game against the Bengals might seem like a letdown. The Chiefs shouldn’t get too comfortable with their victory though. In Week 17, the Bengals beat Kansas City 34-31 in Cincinnati in what was one of the best games of Joe Burrow’s young NFL career. But heading to Arrowhead in the playoffs is a different beast. Burrow commented this week that the SEC games get louder than any NFL stadium he has been in. Needless to say, the Chiefs faithful will likely be up to the challenge.

As for the game, there is a major disadvantage between the Bengals offensive line and the Chiefs defensive line. But then again, we said .........

I will preface this preview by saying that everyone and their dog are on the Bills this week, which never ends up well. In fact, I haven’t heard of a single person on the Chiefs, and the line hasn’t moved at all. The Bills marched into Arrowhead back in Week 5 and won handily 38-20. Buffalo has been the more consistent team this year and is coming off slaying the AFC East dragon by eliminating the Patriots from the playoffs in convincing fashion. So why isn’t this line coming back down towards Buffalo? Is it because the Chiefs are the reigning AFC champions and deserve the respect? Probably. For the first time in several seasons, the Chiefs are looked at as disorganized and inconsistent. How often would we be touting a .........

The defending champs had their way with the Eagles last week, but the Rams are definitely more of a threat. I think this is a game where Brady will miss Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown, especially if Jalen Ramsay covers Mike Evans. The 1-2 punch of Sony Michel and Cam Akers won’t be as effective against the Tampa Bay run defense, but the Buccaneers secondary will also have trouble keeping up with Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham Jr. The Rams beat the Bucs in Week 3 by a score of 34-24, where Kupp had 9 catches on 12 targets for 96 yards and two touchdowns. The major question mark in this game is going to be if Brady’s two offensive lineman Ryan Jensen and Tristan Wirfs can be healthy enough to play and be effective. Brady is .........

One week after eliminating the Dallas Cowboys, the 49ers get to travel to Lambeau Field to take on Aaron Rodgers. Queue the narratives that Rodgers is still bitter about not being drafted by the 49ers, a team he is 0-3 against in the NFL playoffs. San Francisco left Dallas with a victory but also suffered some key injuries. As of now, it looks like Nick Bosa and Fred Warner will be able to suit up on the defensive side, while quarterback Jimmy Garopollo will be playing with a mild shoulder sprain. The key here, especially with Garopollo’s injury, is that the 49ers are going to run the ball all game long. Run with Mitchell, run with Deebo, and make quick, short passes on third down to sustain the drive. Anything to keep Rodgers off .........

For the second straight week, the Bengals play in the earliest game of the weekend, but this time they have to travel to Tennessee to take on the rested Titans. How rested are the Titans? The injury report was pretty much clean this week aside from the players already on the IR. In fact, Derrick Henry returned to practice this week and is expected to suit up for the first time since fracturing a bone in his foot midway through the season. The Bengals are coming off a fairly convincing 26-19 victory over the Raiders last Saturday. It was convincing because the Bengals really didn’t play all that well, showing some understandable nerves for the game. The good news for the Bengals, defensive end Tre Hendirckson and defensive tackle ......
