Two clubs heading in opposite directions, as the Cubs continue to rebuild after unloading the core of their team that won the World Series back in 2015. It will be a revenge game for Anthony RIzzo, who has found new life in the Bronx after leaving Chicago. As of now, the Cubs have Wade Miley starting against Luis Severino. While Miley has been injured for most of the season, he looks to be on the mound against arguably the best team in the American League. Led by the red-hot bat of current MVP frontrunner Aaron Judge, the Yankees have been obliterating the baseball and can also send out Giancarlo Stanton as the best one-two punch against lefties in the league.
The Yankees can mash lefty pitchers, and the Chicago offense really shouldn’t scare anyone, even in the hitter friendly park in New York. The Yankees will likely be significant home favorites in this one, especially with a rejuvenated Severino on the mound. Severino sports a 4-1 record with a sparkling 2.95 ERA and 1.00 WHIP. The Yankees are firing on all cylinders right now, and should have no problem slashing through the Cubs. Take the Yankees at juiced odds on the moneyline, and don’t be afraid to play them on the -1.5 runline as well.
