What a matchup this is going to be with two of the top offensive units in the NFL going head to head. This is the dream matchup for the NFL and the ratings in this one should be massive with two of the most popular franchises in the league facing off. The 49ers secondary is going to have trouble keeping up with faster receivers like CeeDee Lamb here, and the linebacker core will have to contend with tight end Dalton Schulz who always seems to be available when Dak is in trouble. The key for San Francisco is to get pressure on Dak and make him move out of the pocket. Another factor is how Dallas is going to stop San Francisco’s power run game. The Cowboys gave up 112.8 rushing yards per game this year on average which was middle of the pack in the NFL. You can’t have a below average rush defense against the 49ers. San Francisco will likely be trying to control the clock here and rush Dallas’ possessions on offense. I think the 49ers utilize a short game here with Deebo Samuel in the backfield and George Kittle down the middle of the field. My only concern with the 49ers is how the offensive line will be able to stop Micah Parsons and Demarcus Lawrence. We’ve seen how Jimmy G can crumble under pressure. It is a difficult handicap to make here, but given the Cowboys’ exceptional strength in the trenches on both sides of the ball, I’ll take the home team with the top offense in the league to cover the -3.0.
