Conference Semifinals Game 7 Monday May 15, 2022 at 03:30 pm ET
On Sunday, both teams from last year’s NBA Finals are in crucial Game 7 matchups in the second round. The defending champs failed to put away the Celtics at home in Game 6, so will have to travel to Boston in what will certainly be a raucous TD Garden. Jayson Tatum and Giannis Antenokounmpo went head to head in Game 6, with Tatum putting up 46 points while Giannis had a ridiculous 44 points and 20 rebounds in the loss. Milwaukee has certainly missed shooting guard Khris Middleton in this series, as Giannis and Jrue Holiday have been forced to shoulder most of the offensive load. Home court has not necessarily been an advantage in this series, and shows how well both team’s defenses have travelled.
Boston has been even more impressive on the defensive end with veteran Al Horford filling in at center for the re-injured Robert Williams. There should be no surprise that many believe the winner of this series might be the best team in the NBA this season. WIth that being said, the physical series is taking a toll on both teams, while Miami gets to rest and get healthy for the winner. This has been the most difficult series for me to handicap this season. In a big game, I tend to lean on superstars and I think Giannis can lead the Bucks to a win even in a hostile environment. The Celtics were six point favorites in Game 5 and the Bucks won outright. I expect the same to happen this time. Take the points with Milwaukee in Game 7.
