The Bucks are fresh off a last second victory against the Miami Heat at home on Wednesday night. It was a tremendous comeback with Milwaukee down by more than ten points with under two minutes left in the game. It goes to show the depth and talent this Bucks team has, even if they seem unmotivated at times this year following their NBA Championship win. It also shows they get up for the big games against Eastern Conference rivals. The Bulls sit second in the Eastern Conference right now on the back of MVP candidate Demar Derozan, who is averaging 28.2 points per game this year. The Bulls have been good at home with a 24-9 record, although the team has lost its last two games and is 6-4 in its last ten games.
In January, Milwaukee edged out the Bulls 94-90, after Giannis and Derozane went toe to toe scoring 30 and 35 points respectively. The thing with Chicago is that it doesn’t have a rim protector that can stop Giannis. Vucevic is great offensively but he’s never been a staunch defender. With Jrue Holiday back at full health, I expect him to cover Derozan defensively, something that was missing in the last matchup. All of this is to say, I expect Milwaukee to win this game, especially with the Bulls on a back to back at Atlanta the night before. Lay it with the Bucks, as I think Milwaukee is about to turn things up for the stretch run.
