If you got this line early, you could actually get Tampa Bay as a small underdog. Line movement between +1.5 and -1.5 doesn’t mean much, since NFL games rarely are decided by one point. Still, it shows an aggressive move by the betting public on Tampa Bay, and for good reason. The defending Super Bowl Champions slaughtered the Falcons last week, and beat the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1. The Rams beat the Bears in Week 1 but failed to cover against a scrappy Colts team. In my opinion, the weakest unit on the field surprisingly is the Rams’ defense. Outside of Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsay, the Rams are actually quite undersized in the secondary. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin should be able to feast out there. Add in Gronk in the red zone and Brady should be able to put some points up on the board. Expectations are that Antonio Brown will miss the game due to a positive COVID test, although he still has an outside chance of playing. I expect to see more of Giovani Bernard in this game to give Brady an outlet against this pass rush. In terms of the Rams, I think Stafford will be able to throw on this defense, with a strong lean to Cooper Kupp having a big game due to slot corner Sean Murphy-Bunting on the sidelines. Give me the Bucs by the small number here, even with the cross-country trip.
