For the marquee weekend matchup this week, we head to College Station, Texas where Bo Nix and the 6-2 Tigers from Auburn visit the 6-2 Aggies. Auburn Tigers are coming off a convincing win over an exhausted Ole Miss team last week at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Nix has been a surprise this year, taking a massive step up from last season. The Tigers have won four of five, with the lone loss in that streak coming against the top ranked team in the country from Georgia. The thing is, A&M is well rested, coming off of their bye. The defense is healthy and should be able to provide a much stiffer challenge to Nix than the tired Ole Miss group. The problem for A&M is going to be its anemic passing offense. While they can rely on the run, the Aggies will have to mix it up against an Auburn defense that has held its own this season. Nix will have his hands full with the Aggies pass rush which has 24 sacks this season, which is second only to Georgia. In the end, I think A&M wins with its defense, but I just cannot back Zach Calzada to cover more than a field goal. Instead, I’m taking the under here which has gone 9-1 in Auburn’s last ten games.
