GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Atlanta Falcons arrived at Lambeau Field looking for their first victory of the season. They left with something considerably more impressive: a convincing 35–14 dismantling of the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night.

The Falcons trailed 7–0 early, but after that, the game belonged almost entirely to Atlanta. The Falcons scored 27 unanswered points, turning an early deficit into a 27–7 advantage and putting the Packers in a hole they couldn't climb out of.

The biggest storyline coming into the game was the return of Michael Penix Jr., making his first start of the season after recovering from a torn ACL.

Penix didn't have to be spectacular — he simply needed to get Atlanta's offense moving. He did exactly that, completing 18 of 25 passes for 256 yards, one touchdown and one interception. More importantly, he consistently found his playmakers downfield.

And those playmakers were certainly ready.

Bijan Robinson was the star of the night.

Robinson rushed for 194 yards and two touchdowns, including a 55-yard burst that helped Atlanta answer Green Bay's early touchdown. He averaged nearly 6.7 yards per carry and repeatedly ripped through a Packers defense that simply couldn't slow him down.

But Robinson wasn't alone.

Drake London had an enormous night, catching nine passes for 194 yards, including a 68-yard reception in the fourth quarter. The combination of Robinson on the ground and London through the air gave Green Bay problems from beginning to end.

Atlanta finished with an astonishing 498 total yards, including 242 rushing yards.

For the Packers, it was a frustrating night.

Jordan Love threw for 312 yards and two touchdowns, but he needed 53 attempts to get there and also threw an interception. The bigger problem was the running game: Green Bay managed just 17 rushing yards on nine attempts.

That imbalance made life extremely difficult for the Packers. Atlanta could concentrate on defending the pass while Green Bay repeatedly found itself in obvious passing situations.

The Packers did have chances. Early in the third quarter, Green Bay drove deep into Atlanta territory, but a fourth-down incompletion from Love ended the threat. Atlanta responded with another touchdown drive, pushing the margin to 24–7.

Matthew Golden's 15-yard touchdown reception late in the fourth quarter briefly cut the deficit to 27–14, but Robinson answered with his second touchdown of the evening, putting the game away.

The final statistics paint an even clearer picture: Atlanta possessed the ball for 37:05, ran 66 plays and averaged 7.5 yards per play. Green Bay had only 22:55 of possession and managed 5.2 yards per play.

Perhaps most striking of all was the rushing difference:

Falcons — 242 yards
Packers — 17 yards

That's a 225-yard advantage on the ground for Atlanta.

The victory moves both teams to 1–2, but the feeling surrounding them after Thursday night couldn't be more different.

For Atlanta, Penix's return provided a badly needed spark, and Robinson and London demonstrated just how dangerous the offense can be when the Falcons are able to establish their playmakers.

For Green Bay, the loss snapped a remarkable streak: the Packers had won 13 consecutive home openers, dating back to 2013.

Final: Atlanta Falcons 35, Green Bay Packers 14.

And if you're an Atlanta fan, there's one especially encouraging thought coming out of Lambeau:

When Michael Penix, Bijan Robinson and Drake London are all clicking, this Falcons offense looks like a very different football team.
